About The Class
This beginner oil painting class is designed to teach the basics of how to use and apply
oil paints and medium. How to color mix and layer colors to create a still life painting of an object of the painter’s choice will also be taught. The subject for the still life will be a choice of fruit, vegetable, seashells and other items from nature.
Week one will include drawing on paper and paint drawing on canvas. Blocking in the first layer of color to cover all areas of the canvas.
Week two will focus more on color mixing and using medium. All details and light areas will be finalized on the painting.
Students will take their paintings home at the end of the second class. Paintings will be wet for several days.
1st and 2nd Saturday, every other month. (At registration select your dates)
9:00 am – 11:00 am, doors open at 8:45 am.
$45.00 first person, $35.00 additional person in your group. ( If you are registering more than 2 people, please use the contact form to contact Lancaster Art Room for registration)
This is a beginner class; all supplies are included for one canvas painting.
Oil painting is messy, bring an art shirt or apron to wear.
Age restrictions 8-15, class size is 10 people max.
