About The Class
This beginner oil painting class is designed to teach the basics of how to use and apply
oil paints and medium. How to color mix and layer colors to create a still life painting of an object of the painter’s choice will also be taught.
Week one will include drawing on paper transferring that onto canvas. Blocking in the first layer of color to cover all areas of the canvas.
Week two will focus more on color mixing and using medium. All details and light areas will be finalized on the painting.
Students will take their paintings home at the end of the second class. Paintings will be wet for several days.

This is a beginner class; all painting supplies are included for one canvas painting.
Oil painting is messy, bring an art shirt or apron to wear.
Age restrictions 7-15, class size is 8 people max.
A Pet Portraits Oil Painting Class will be held on Saturday December 5th & the following Saturday December 12th.
The class is from 10:00 am – Noon, both days.
At least one week before the class, participants will need to supply a photograph of a pet. A reminder will go out with instructions how to send it via email.
