About The Class
Our next Landscape Oil Painting Class is an eight week session and it begins Tuesday evening, January 7th.
This oil painting class is a landscape painting class and will explore the basics of oil painting techniques. As a beginner you will be taught the skills necessary to paint a landscape picture. As a seasoned painter, this class will give you the opportunity to learn from a different instructor and enjoy the company of other students in relaxed atmosphere. If you are repeating the class, feel free to explore a different subject matter for the class. Bring your ideas and pictures with you to the first class.
This class is designed to help students execute a landscape of their choosing, focusing on composition, perspective, color mixing, and painting techniques. Students will use photographs or prints as source material for their painting. Each student will provide at least one picture to work from. You will need a printed 8×10 inch copy of what you want to paint. If is also helpful to bring both a color copy and a black and white. Bring a few if you can not decide. The picture could be a photograph or calendar picture of a landscape.
Since we are changing from a six week session to an eight week session, students could complete two paintings.
Group and individual instruction is given during each session.
All art materials are included in the cost of this class. Each student will be provided with one -to two canvases, (9 x12 or 10 x 10).
Cost: $275 per person
An open studio time is available to painting students every Thursday evening 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
