This multi age class is the perfect opportunity for a couple of friends, couples or parent/grandparent and child to get your hands dirty and learn a new skill. Singles are encouraged and very welcome! This will be a slab clay class, very different from the potter’s wheel.
Week one you will learn how to roll the clay into a slab, add texture, and then form and assemble the mug. You will also design and press a small snack plate.
Week two you will smooth out any imperfections, stamp your name on the bottoms and paint the two pieces. Each project will be hand painted with under glaze, fired, then fired a second time with a clear glaze to make each piece dish washer safe.
This beginner oil painting class is designed to teach the basics of how to use and apply oil paints and medium. How to color mix and layer colors to create a still life painting of an object of the painter’s choice will also be taught. The subject for the still life will be a choice of fruit, vegetable, seashells and other items from nature.
Week one will include drawing on paper and paint drawing on canvas. Blocking in the first layer of color to cover all areas of the canvas.
Week two will focus more on color mixing and using medium. All details and light areas will be finalized on the painting.
This oil painting class is a landscape painting class and will explore the basics of oil painting techniques. As a beginner you will be taught the skills necessary to paint a landscape picture. As a seasoned painter, this class will give you the opportunity to learn from a different instructor and enjoy the company of other students in relaxed atmosphere.
This class is designed to help students execute a landscape of their choosing, focusing on composition, perspective, color mixing, and painting techniques. Students will use photographs or prints as source material for their painting. Each student will provide at least one picture to work from. The picture could be a photograph or calendar picture of a landscape. Group and individual instruction is given during each session.
This new class will explore the Boho style and make a wall hanging from a variety of yarns. The Boho Style is a free-spirited aesthetic that mixes different cultures and artistic expressions into an eclectic style with an emphasis on organic elements and nature. Each student will select their color scheme for their wall hanging ahead of class. Additional yarns will be available to mix into the wall hanging to create more variety of color and texture. The Wall hanging will measure approximately 4 feet wide and 3 feet in height. Each student will create their own unique ascetic in this wall hanging.

Base fee for a 2 hour party is $175.00. Up to 10 Children and 12 adults.

*No art projects are required to rent the space.
Art project choices:
+ $5.00 per person – Canvas acrylic painting. (Sunflowers, Tree & Birds, Lizard or Alpaca)
+ $5.00 per person – Polymer clay take home and bake sculpture (Sea Turtle, Dragon or Bugs)
+ $7.00 per person – Tie Dye Tee Shirts (would need shirt sizes ahead of time)
No food, drinks, table clothes for the three (48 inch) round tables, party supplies or decorations are provided. Please make arrangement to arrive early for set-up.

The price will be per person. The minimum for an Art party is 5, the maximin would depend on the type of art project you are doing.
Learn the art of hand building pottery using the slab technique, which allows a wide range of shape, form and texture. This method is very different from the traditional potter’s wheel.
This class is for both beginners and the seasoned clay artist. Each week instruction will be given on different skills and assistance in developing individual projects. Each participant will receive 20 pounds of clay to work with, which should make 3-5 projects depending on the size of each project. Each project will be hand painted with under glaze, fired, then fired a second time with a clear glaze to make each piece dish washer safe.
The classes will be taught by a certified K-12 art teacher with degrees in Art Education, Fine Art, and a Master of Education. The class will have a maximum of 10 students.
Each grade group will do a clay project and a painting on canvas. Their third project will be selected by the class.
Parents will be able to wait on site, in a comfortable room separate from the art classroom. We have a large parking lot and outside space, including a walking path.

Unfortunately, because of the small class size for classes and camps, there will be no refund if you cancel. We will, however, try our best to fill the spot with a suitable student. If the spot is filled, you will receive a full refund less the 3% bank fees.
